"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

During a game of baseball, you can find yourself in some pretty tense situations, like trying to get a squeeze bunt down to let the winning run score, or striking out the next hitter with the bases loaded. Yet when we have "the peace of God, which transcends all understanding," we have nothing to fear, for Christ is in us, playing through us.

Before I learned that lesson, I was trying to do it all on my own. I thought I had the talent and make-up to do it myself. As I started reading God's Word more on a consistent basis, I realized that He was telling me to stop being so anxious and worrying about everything; to let Him do the work through me. From that time on I started playing baseball with a new confidence rather than a fear of failure. I now live at peace knowing that He lives in me at all times, and will bring me, successfully, through any situation.
